The pilgrimage led by Brother Jim O’Brien and Fr. Denis Carneiro had returned from Lourdes. It was a very good experience, said Fr. Denis, and all went well. Aurora Hiso was so moved by her experience at the Bath. She could not explain the flow of tears that just kept coming. What touched her most was the kindness of the volunteer who helped her. She simply planted kisses on Aurora’s cheeks to assure her that everything will be alright. Aurora felt deeply in her heart. For her it was a beautiful and spiritually uplifting experience. Many agreed it was the same for them too.
Geraldine Idstein was asked to sing in the choir during the International Mass. Luckily, it was in Latin which she’s familiar with. Aurora and Geraldine felt that their group became family during this pilgrimage. I guess that’s how Lourdes affects people. The care and love always seem to be present. This group was partly from St. Mary Parish, Buffalo Grove, IL and others from nearby suburbs. They came back end of April, 2007.
