Relevant Radio Chicago - Live Interview

July 2006

Friends of Lourdes USA National Coordinator, Melinda Henson, was invited to talk on the Chicago Relevant Radio about the preparations for the 150th Anniversary of the Apparition of Our Lady to Bernadette. She was interviewed by Tom Sheridan, Editor, Catholic New World, Chicago Publication and Fr. Greg Sakowicz, Chicago Diocese. She talked about the importance of parishes and communities coming together and working together to spread the need to revive the story of Bernadette through books, videos, and DVD's. The Lourdes story is the story of how Mary chose a poor young girl to be the example to bring the message of the Gospel to the world. Simply, it is a grassroots movement of evangelization.

Preparations for the anniversary are not just for events as much as the individual spiritual preparations that occur in the heart. The transformation of heart is indeed the miracle which allows us to see Christ in other people.

Melinda related that she has become more conscious of others especially the sick after her first journey to Lourdes. She called this her personal "miracle."
